A steel joist bears near a concrete tilt-up panel with a continuous chord angle at the bottom flange, which can alternatively be discontinuous and full penetration welded at splices. A 1/2-inch by 8-inch by 1-foot-0-inch embed plate with four 3/4-inch diameter by 6-inch heavy stud anchors secures to the tilt-up panel. A splice plate connects the chord angle to the adjacent chord angle per plan and schedule. A one-quarter-inch fillet weld secures the angle to the embed plate.
