Duct strap hangers are anchored overhead to a concrete-filled metal deck in two different framing configurations. The first assembly secures a 3x3x10-gauge steel angle spanning across two lower flute widths using two 3/8-inch-diameter expansion anchors with a 2-5/16-inch minimum embedment. Three number-10 sheet metal screws connect the vertical strap hanger to the downward leg of the angle. The second assembly uses a similar steel angle attached directly to the underside of the concrete-filled metal deck flutes with a single 3/8-inch-diameter expansion anchor. Edge distances require a one-inch minimum spacing at W2 and W3 decks and a three-quarter-inch minimum spacing at B decks, maintaining a two-inch minimum typical clearance.
