Longitudinal footing reinforcement continues through the step transition with a two-foot minimum lap splice. Reinforcement size and spacing in the step matches the main longitudinal footing reinforcement. The step height is limited to two feet maximum with equal spacing dimensions, and minimum step dimensions match the footing thickness. A four-foot minimum dimension is maintained along the upper footing tier.
