The assembly features a steel beam framing into the web of a steel column using a 3/8-inch shear plate. The shear plate is shop-welded to the column flange or web with a 5/16-inch weld on three sides, and the beam web is connected to the shear plate using erection bolts. Dimensions and notes indicate clear spacing requirements and notes regarding extended shear plates and similar conditions on both sides of the column.
