A core plate connects to lug plates surrounded by grout fill and a proprietary interface material inside structural steel tube and pipe sections. A clearance dimension tc marks the gap thickness at the side of the hollow structural section. The assembly integrates structural steel plates with cementitious grout inside tubular profiles.
