A structural steel column connects to a base plate per schedule, secured with complete joint penetration welds to the column flange and web. Multiple shear lugs are spaced along the embedded portion of the column according to the schedule, attached with typical five-sixteenths-inch fillet welds. The embedment depth and top of concrete elevation are dimensioned per structural drawings, maintaining a one-inch typical clearance.
