A structural steel davit socket pedestal bears onto a supporting steel beam intersection, reinforced with three-eighths-inch stiffener plates on each side. Half-inch by four-inch plates are secured to the flanges and webs with quarter-inch fillet welds. The davit base is welded to the beam flanges with three-eighths-inch welds. Additional three-eighths-inch stiffener plates are tied into the beam assembly with typical quarter-inch fillet welds.
