A structural connection joins a steel girder and a concrete return panel. A hollow structural section member occurs at the wall and is supported by a seven-eighths-inch thick plate sized per the girder manufacturer. A horizontal slotted ledger connects the assembly to the concrete panel, while metal deck and hollow structural section blocking tie into the framing per plan. A one-quarter-inch fillet weld with a three-inch minimum length secures the components, subject to joist manufacturer verification.
