A two-sided beam connection frames into the web of a wide-flange column. A connection plate per schedule, measuring five-eighths inch thick typically, connects to the column web via seven-sixteenths inch fillet welds. The supported beam web bolts to the connection plate using a typical vertical column of bolts spaced at three inches on center, with two-inch edge distances typical. A one-inch maximum clearance is maintained between the beam end and the column face, and a one-half inch weld plus one-sixteenth inch minimum is specified for the plate connection. Dimensional callouts for two-sided framing symmetry are provided.
