A structural steel beam frames into a column with a gusset plate and a web doubler plate welded to the column web. Continuity plates align with the beam flanges inside the column, and stiffener plates reinforce the beam web. The doubler plate is attached with a three-sixteenths inch minimum weld size typical at edges, alongside groove welds per AWS D1.8 Clause 4.3. Cross sections A-A and B-B detail the placement of the column, beam, and doubler plate configurations.
