A hollow structural section column bears on a three-eighths by twelve-inch by zero-foot-six-inch base plate welded to a wide-flange transfer girder with erection bolts as required. Five-sixteenths-inch fillet welds secure the base plate to the top flange. Five-sixteenths-inch full-depth stiffener plates are welded to each side of the girder web with plate width matching the girder flange width, utilizing one-quarter-inch fillet welds on three sides.
