Angle braces measuring 4x4x1/4 inches connect to the steel beam and steel bar joists typical at each joist with 3/16-inch fillet welds spaced at 3 inches. A steel beam sized per the roof framing plan supports the bar joists. A six-inch wood nailer with the same width as the beam flange fits between the bar joists, secured with 7/8-inch diameter wood screws at 12 inches on center staggered with a countersink of one inch maximum depth. Angle braces are welded to the beam after the roof is installed, located no further than 6 inches from the top chord panel point unless an auxiliary web is installed.
