Lateral bracing for ceiling joists connects to a structural steel beam and deflection track assembly. Existing two-by timber joists are positioned per plan above a Clark Dietrich MaxTrak slotted deflection track with two-and-a-half-inch legs and fifty-four mil thickness. An L2x2x3/16 angle brace is fastened using three-eighths-inch lag screws and is added at forty-eight inches on center. The angle brace ties into a two-by-two-by-three-sixteenths-inch plate welded to the track assembly with one-eighth-inch fillet welds on all weldable sides.
