Steel floor beams connect to a supporting steel beam or hollow structural section column using bolted web plates and welded web stiffeners. The intersecting steel beams feature typical web plates bolted to the beam webs, with web stiffeners provided when intersecting beams are offset more than one foot from each other. Bolts secure the web connection plates while welds attach the stiffeners to the supporting members per typical construction practices.
