A glulam beam sized per plan connects to a supporting timber element using a three-quarter-inch-thick bucket plate welded with a three-eighths-inch fillet weld. A one-half-inch-thick bucket plate matched to the beam width is secured to each side of the beam using sixteen SDWS27400SS structural wood screws each side. Tension rods attach to the lower bucket plate assembly to provide lateral restraint. The column connection is omitted for clarity.
