A hollow structural section post mounts to structural steel framing beams using a base plate welded with three-eighths inch fillets top and bottom. Full-height stiffener plates are provided on each side of the supporting beam web at intersecting members or kickers as indicated on plan. A parallel kicker brace frames into the support assembly, while offset configurations utilize a Grade 50 flange extension plate connected via a one-inch complete joint penetration weld to the flange. The hollow structural section post size matches the member specified above up to an eight-foot maximum height.
