An HSS14x10x5/8 outrigger connects back to a column per plan, featuring three-eighths-inch stiffeners aligned with the horizontal face of the hollow structural section and welded with one-quarter-inch fillet welds on three sides typically. A three-eighths-inch cap plate attaches to the end of the outrigger with a three-sixteenths-inch partial-joint-penetration weld. An HSS girt runs beyond at a maximum of one foot eight inches, positioned half an inch clear of the outrigger and supported by an angle bracket. Five-sixteenths-inch fillet welds secure the connection assembly at key structural intersections.
