A mid-height construction joint in a reinforced concrete column where longitudinal reinforcing bars require an offset bend. The vertical bars feature an offset bend with a maximum slope of one-in-six to transition between differing column dimensions or alignments. Column ties are spaced at three inches and four inches at six inches on center near the joint, complying with either the scheduled tie spacing or the six-inch maximum as directed by note two. The column size, main reinforcement, and splice length are determined per the column schedule. This joint condition applies only where specifically indicated on the drawings and approved by the engineer of record.
