Framing reinforcement for a deck opening between four inches and nine inches maximum in size. A twelve-gauge reinforcing plate surrounds the opening, welded to the metal deck flutes with tack welds at six inches on center. The reinforcing plate extends a minimum of ten inches beyond the opening on the sides and a variable distance along the other axis. Holes less than four inches by four inches do not require a reinforcing plate.
