A twelve-inch concrete wall reinforced with number five bars at sixteen inches on center each way ties into a concrete footing extending to frost depth. Number four hooked dowels at sixteen inches on center with alternate bends connect the wall base to the footing, which contains eighteen number seven longitudinal bars and number three ties at twelve inches on center with three-inch clearance. A concrete slab on grade bears against the wall where required over a six-inch thick road base on a grade beam.
