Cold-formed steel jamb configurations feature boxed jambs with two or more studs and back-to-back jamb configurations utilizing two or three studs. Number 8 screws are fastened at six inches on center staggered or on each flange depending on the assembly type, with bearing walls requiring a minimum of fifty percent of the screw count specified per plan. A forty-three mil minimum track is installed on the penetration side for the full height of the jamb or matched to the stud thickness, whichever is greater, requiring a minimum one and one-quarter inch flange width. Jamb stud size and quantity are determined per the structural schedule.
