A steel stair stringer connects to a thickened slab on grade using an L3x3x1/4 angle secured with three-quarter-inch diameter by eight-inch expansion anchor bolts at each stringer typically. The stringer is welded to the connection angle with a three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld on three sides. The slab on grade is thickened at the stringer as shown on the plan.
