A filler beam framing connection to a wide-flange beam utilizes a WT section and welded stiffener plates. A quarter-inch fillet weld secures the WT to the supporting wide-flange beam, complemented by three-sixteenths inch fillet welds at specific joint locations. Quarter-inch thick stiffener plates are positioned on each side of the WT web, spaced at four feet on center with the first plate located six inches from each end of the WT. Sizing for both the wide-flange beams and the WT sections is determined per structural framing plans.
