A fabricated steel weldment connects a steel beam and hollow structural sections using welded plates and stiffeners. The connection incorporates a five-sixteenth-inch fillet weld typical on three sides for the plate-to-hollow structural section joints. Additional quarter-inch fillet welds secure the plate to the beam and stiffener plates typical. A quarter-inch weld with an each side designation is applied as noted. Standard structural steel connection practices govern the fit-up and weld sizes for the assembly.
