An L6x4x1/2 structural steel angle connects the stair stringer to a 3/4-inch thick by 6-inch wide embed plate. The embed plate is secured into the concrete slab edge with four 3/4-inch diameter by 8-inch long welded stud anchors. A one-quarter-inch fillet weld connects the angle to the stringer, and five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds secure the angle to the embed plate. This connection detail applies at levels B1 and 1 where stair stringers frame into concrete slabs.
