A concrete slab reentrant corner is reinforced with two number four bars placed at both the top and bottom, extending symmetrically one foot six inches on each side with one inch of clear cover. A one-quarter-inch flexible closed-cell foam plank spans the full depth of the slab at the joint, finished at the top with an elastomeric sealant and backer rod. Reinforcement crossing any construction or contraction joint is relocated to clear the joint by two inches.
