A wide flange beam connects to an HSS beam sized per plan with a half-inch gap between members. A five-sixteenth by five-and-a-half by nine-inch plate attaches with three three-quarter-inch diameter A325-N bolts through thirteen-sixteenth by three-inch long slotted holes. Fillet welds of quarter-inch size secure the connection assembly.
