A structural beam frames into a supporting girder using a moment connection. The beam flanges connect to the girder with complete joint penetration welds at the top and bottom. A three-eighths-inch thick partial height shear tab bolts to the beam web using four-bolt vertical patterns on each side. A three-eighths-inch full height stiffener plate is provided at single-sided beam locations to reinforce the web of the supporting girder.
