A wide flange beam serves as the centerline support at a two-hour fire wall assembly, receiving framing beams on one or both sides as required by the plan. A half-inch plate connects the framing beam with bolting per schedule or per high load connection notes, ensuring all bolts remain located outside the two-hour wall assembly. A five-sixteenths inch fillet weld secures the connection plate to the supporting wide flange beam web. Beams concealed within the wall assembly are installed per plan requirements.
