Simpson SCB bypass framing slide-clips are fabricated from 16 gauge 50 ksi steel material and come in models SCB43.5 and SCB45.5. Connection to metal studs requires two number 14 Simpson shouldered screws installed in the center of each slot. Fastening to structural steel utilizes three number 12 self-drilling Simpson X-metal screws installed in the top anchor holes. Screw fastener installation into steel backed by concrete requires pre-drilling the steel and concrete with a maximum 3/16-inch diameter drill bit.
