A steel beam frames into the web of a depressed girder utilizing a bolted shear plate connection. AISC standard horizontal short-slotted holes are provided in the connection plate. The shear plate and bolt configuration are sized per the structural schedule, with the number of bolts determined by the plan layout. The girder top flange features a depression per plan to accommodate the framing condition, maintaining minimum AISC clearance requirements.
