A metal stud wall is capped with a continuous three-inch deep track featuring vertical slotted holes and attached to blocking with two number eight screws at twenty-four inches on center. The track connects to an angle measuring three by three by one-quarter inches, acting as a brace spaced at eight feet on center and staggered. The brace secures to the bar joists above with a weld or an alternate bolted connection using five-eighths inch diameter A307 bolts with washers as required at thirty-two inches on center. Bar joists bear upward against the underside of the metal deck assembly, transmitting seismic loads.
