A concrete fill on a steel deck is supported by a wide flange beam with a step or depression in the slab assembly. The concrete slab is reinforced with deck reinforcement bars and Z-bars that match the size and spacing of the deck reinforcement. A deck support angle is connected to the wide flange beam to support the offset deck section. Shear transfer is provided by three-quarter-inch diameter by four-inch long welded studs spaced at twelve inches on center.
