A structural steel beam frames into a hollow structural section column using a welded moment connection and a bolted shear tab. Top and bottom moment plates welded to the column flanges connect to the beam flanges with complete joint penetration welds and weld access holes. A shear tab welded to the column face bolts to the beam web per the typical beam connection schedule. Clearances, edge distances, and plate dimensions are detailed in plan and elevation.
