A continuous hollow structural section column receives a moment connection framing into a cantilevered beam with a slotted plate running through the hollow structural section. WT5x22.5 shapes are positioned on each side of the column, with the collector beam omitted for clarity. An edge beam is sized per plan, and concrete over metal deck sits above the framing. Fillet welds of one-quarter inch are applied typically to the column edge, and the slotted plate connection is detailed per sheet S1.04A.
