A glulam beam per plan is supported by a custom steel hanger welded or connected to a steel beam per plan. A steel knife plate is inserted into the glulam beam and features horizontal long slotted holes for horizontal movement tolerance. The assembly transfers gravity loads from the timber member to the structural steel framing.
