This structural detail specifies the hook geometry for concrete reinforcing stirrups and ties. The straight extension length beyond the bend is dimensioned as six times the bar diameter or three inches minimum, whichever is greater. The inside bend diameter is indicated by the variable D per standard ACI detailing requirements.
