A double brace connection ties into a central column supported by a reinforced concrete footing. Dual diagonal braces attach to gusset plates on either side of the column, transferring lateral loads into the foundation. Continuous eighteen-millimeter Dywidag bars fifty-seven millimeters in diameter run through each side of the concrete member. The brace forces are determined per the buckling-restrained brace schedule, allocating fifty percent of the total force to each side of the column.
