Steel floor beams frame into the flange of a structural steel column using a single plate shear tab welded to the column and bolted to the beam web. A second row of bolts is provided where indicated by the non-moment connection notes. Edge distances and bolt spacings follow standard American Institute of Steel Construction specifications with a one-half-inch typical clearance. The shear tab dimensions and plate thickness are sized per schedule.
