This connection assembly details a wide-flange column splice with an edge beam, tied together using clip angles attached to the column. A bent plate is installed below the slab support angles, which bridge a one-inch maximum gap across the splice location. When dimension X exceeds twelve inches, a three-eighths by twelve-inch bent plate slab support angle is provided below. Deformed bar anchors tie the surrounding concrete slab, and the deck gap is closed using a deck closure plate. Fillet welds of one-quarter inch size are specified at the clip angles and slab support components.
