This structural steel connection joins beams of differing depths to a column web using bolted shear tabs and welded continuity plates. The shear tab thickness equals the beam web thickness plus one-quarter of an inch, with bolt size and spacing configured according to the structural plan. Continuity plates are positioned top and bottom across the column web, welded with specified thicknesses designated as TF1 and TF2. A note dictates that if the clearance is less than three inches, the continuity plate on that side is omitted. Edge distance and bolt spacing follow American Institute of Steel Construction specifications.
