A davit socket pedestal is mounted atop structural framing supported by a steel column, offset to clear the column profile. Half-inch stiffener plates measuring ten inches are welded to each side of the beam web with one-quarter inch fillet welds. Additional half-inch stiffener plates are placed between the beam flanges, with three-eighths inch and five-sixteenths inch fillet welds securing the assembly to the column web and flanges. A shear tab connection frames the beam into the column. A davit socket pedestal sits directly above the supporting beam and column connection.
