Cold-formed metal stud walls receive alternate bridging consisting of one and one-half inch by twenty gauge continuous straps spaced at two feet on center vertically. Each strap connects to every stud using one number eight screw and to each blocking member using four number eight screws. Blocking matches the stud material and is placed at six feet on center horizontally and at all strap locations. The web of each blocking member is bent and connected to each stud using two number eight screws. Gypsum wallboard is attached to one side of the studs as specified by architectural drawings.
