A wide flange beam frames into the flange of a wide flange column via a bolted single plate shear connection. The web of the incoming beam attaches to a vertical shear tab with eight bolts arranged in two vertical rows of four. The connection maintains an offset dimension of one foot maximum from the column centerline. A separate tubular post or column supports the main column base from below with anchor bolts and a base plate.
