An HSS 4x3 beam with a one-quarter-inch cap plate at both ends bears on a half-inch by six-inch by nine-inch plate welded to the top of an HSS 5x5 post. An HSS 4x4 member connects adjacent to the post per plan. The connection is welded on both sides as indicated.
