An HSS post aligns with the face of cladding and connects to a structural steel beam sized per plan at Level 2. A 5/16-inch thick by 10-inch plate with vertical slotted holes attaches to each side, secured with two 7/8-inch diameter through-bolts spaced at 4 inches. A kicker brace sized per plan frames into the underside of the steel beam. A one-quarter-inch thick cap plate with a seal weld caps the top of the hollow structural section post.
