Standard reinforcement placement for concrete piers with widths exceeding five feet. The cross-section indicates horizontal ties spaced at six inches on center at openings or recesses, transitioning to twenty-four inches on center for the remainder above and below openings unless noted otherwise. Standard one-hundred-eighty-degree hook bends are required on horizontal rebar at each end. Clearances of three-quarters of an inch to ties are maintained typically, with one and one-half inches to ties specified at recesses.
