A fall protection tieback pedestal features a six-inch standard pipe post with a three-quarter-inch top plate to match the manufacturer's plate requirements. The post mounts to an intersecting structural steel beam sized per plan, with top-of-steel elevation established per plan and designed for a five-kip ultimate load maximum. Three-eighths-inch full-depth stiffener plates are welded to each side of the beam web using one-quarter-inch fillet welds on three sides. The post connects to the supporting beam with a one-half-inch plate, and the fall protection system connection to the post and base is provided by others.
