Diagonal braces formed from L3x3x1/4 angles connect symmetrically to the gusset plates at the top flange of the beam and the column web. Three-eighths-inch fillet welds secure the angles typically along the joint. Shear tabs with bolted connections tie the framing beams into the central column flanges.
