A concrete slab blockout and pourback assembly incorporates mechanical couplers such as Lenton Formsavers or approved equals. Slab reinforcing bars are threaded at the coupler ends and lapped at the center of the pourback. A continuous 1-1/2 x 3 inch beveled key is provided all around the joint, with slab sealant joints located on each side of the pourback. Where formsavers are not used, slab bars are hooked per the partial plan. Shoring must be maintained at the corners and midpoint of the opening until the slab blockout is poured and cured for 28 days.
